SOOS is excited to announce a new collaboration for hosting of the SOOS International Project Office (IPO) for 2024!

The University of Tasmania - Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies (UTAS-IMAS), the Tasmanian State Government, the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water’s Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and the Australian Antarctic Program Partnership (AAPP) will form a partnership to support the continuation of the sponsorship and hosting of the SOOS International Project Office in Hobart, Australia in 2024. This builds on the 13-years of hosting already provided by the University of Tasmania and sponsorship from UTAS-IMAS, CSIRO and the Tasmanian State Government since 2020. We are thankful for their continued support and look forward to working and engaging with our new sponsors in the years to come.

We would like to thank our international sponsors: the Swedish Polar Research Secretariat (SPRS), Antarctica New Zealand, TUBITAK Polar Research Institute (Turkey), the University of Cape Town’s Marine Biogeochemistry Lab, and the Horizon Europe project OCEAN:ICE. For further information on all SOOS sponsors or to discuss SOOS sponsorship options, please contact the SOOS Executive Officer, Alyce Hancock.
